Barbara Jean Whitfield, 52, passed away on November 19, 2022. Barbara proudly served in the United States Navy Nurse, caring for wounded service members far from home before returning to civilian life.

After her service, she continued her nursing career for another 20 years, most of it spent in a small-town emergency room where she was known as a calm and steady hand in any crisis. Barbara enjoyed quilting, bird watching, and spoiling her grandchildren, and she will be remembered as a devoted caregiver both in and out of uniform.
