Charles Edward Simmons Jr., 71, passed away peacefully on September 8, 2022. Charles spent 35 years working for the postal service, delivering mail throughout the same neighborhood for most of his career and getting to know generations of families along his route.

A talented jazz trumpet player, Charles spent his evenings and weekends performing in local clubs and mentoring young musicians. He will be remembered for his booming laugh, his steady rhythm, and his devotion to his family and community.
