In 2010, she was honored with the Outstanding Academic Achievement award, a testament to her hard work and determination.

Beyond her academic excellence, Marissa dedicated two decades of her life to serve in the United States Army, where she achieved the rank of Colonel. Her bravery and commitment during her service in the Gulf War were recognized with the Bronze Star and Purple Heart. Marissa exemplified the values of courage and sacrifice, serving her country with an unwavering spirit.

Marissa cherished time spent with family, especially during the holidays, where her famous apple pie became a cherished tradition.
