From an early age, Marissa demonstrated an unwavering commitment to her family. She cherished every moment spent with loved ones, especially during the cherished holiday gatherings that she held dear. Thanksgiving was particularly special for Marissa, as she delighted in preparing her famous apple pie, a treat that brought joy and comfort to all who gathered around the table.

Marissa's academic accomplishments were testament to her dedication and determination. She earned a Master’s degree in Business Administration from XYZ University, where her hard work culminated in the recognition of the Outstanding Academic Achievement award in 2010. This achievement not only marked a milestone in her educational journey but also reflected her passion for excellence and her unyielding spirit.

Her extraordinary service in the United States Army for 20 years is a testament to her bravery and leadership. Rising to the rank of Colonel, Marissa showcased remarkable courage, earning the Bronze Star and Purple Heart for her bravery in combat during the Gulf War. Her service exemplified her commitment not only to her country but also to her fellow soldiers, whom she regarded as family.

Beyond her military career, Marissa found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She embraced her passion for collecting rare books, dedicating countless hours to exploring bookstores and attending auctions in search of new treasures to complement her collection. Each book held more than just pages; they represented adventures, knowledge, and stories waiting to be shared.

Marissa leaves behind her loving sister, Sarah Johnson, and brother-in-law, Tom Johnson.
