Marissa Gracie Riche, born on January 8, 2025, passed away on January 20, 2025. In her brief time with us, Marissa touched the lives of many through her warmth, compassion, and dedication to her family and friends.
Marissa earned a Master's degree in Business Administration from XYZ University, where her hard work and academic excellence were recognized with the Outstanding Academic Achievement award in 2010. Her commitment to education and personal growth was evident throughout her life, serving as an inspiration to those around her.
Marissa proudly served in the United States Army for 20 years, achieving the rank of Colonel. Her bravery and service in combat during the Gulf War earned her distinguished honors, including the Bronze Star and Purple Heart. These accolades reflect her unwavering courage and dedication to her country.
In her personal life, Marissa cherished every moment spent with family, particularly during the holidays. Her famous apple pie became a beloved tradition, and her kitchen was often filled with laughter and warmth as she prepared meals for those she loved.
Marissa had a lifelong passion for collecting rare books, spending countless hours in bookstores and at auctions in pursuit of unique additions to her library. This hobby showcased her thirst for knowledge and appreciation for the literary arts.
Marissa is survived by her loving sister, Sarah Johnson, and brother-in-law, Tom Johnson, as well as her close friend, Rachel Lee. She was predeceased by her mother, Susan Smith; father, John Smith Sr.; and brother, James Smith.
Though Marissa's time on this earth was brief, her legacy of love, bravery, and intelligence will continue to resonate in the hearts of all who knew her. She leaves behind cherished memories and an enduring influence that will last a lifetime.
