Marissa Gracie Riche, beloved sister, friend, and dedicated member of her community, passed away on June 27, 2025, at the tender age of 20. Born on June 10, 2025, Marissa’s brief time on Earth was marked by remarkable achievements and a profound love for her family and friends.
Marissa earned a Master’s degree in Business Administration from XYZ University, where her exceptional dedication and intellect were recognized with the Outstanding Academic Achievement award in 2010. Her commitment to education and excellence inspired those around her to strive for greatness in their own lives.
Marissa proudly served in the United States Army for 20 years, achieving the rank of Colonel. Her service was characterized by bravery and resilience, earning her both the Bronze Star and Purple Heart for her courageous actions during the Gulf War. Marissa's military career exemplified her unwavering dedication to her country and her fellow service members.
Beyond her professional accomplishments, Marissa cherished the time spent with her family, especially during the joyous holiday season. She took particular delight in baking her famous apple pie every Thanksgiving, an annual tradition that brought warmth and joy to family gatherings. Her love for collecting rare books provided her with countless hours of happiness as she eagerly explored bookstores and auctions in search of unique additions to her treasured collection.
Marissa is survived by her sister, Sarah Johnson, and brother-in-law, Tom Johnson, as well as her close friend, Rachel Lee. She is preceded in death by her mother, Susan Smith; father, John Smith Sr.; and brother, James Smith. The impact she had on her loved ones will forever be cherished and remembered with deep affection.
Her legacy will live on through the memories she created and the lives she touched. Marissa Gracie Riche will be deeply missed, yet her spirit will continue to inspire those who knew and loved her.
