Marissa Gracie Riche, born on July 16, 2025, left this world on July 31, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love, courage, and scholarly achievement. In her brief time with us, Marissa made a remarkable impact that will not be forgotten.

Marissa was a proud member of the United States Army, serving her country honorably for 20 years and attaining the rank of Colonel. Her service was marked by bravery, as evidenced by her receipt of the Bronze Star and Purple Heart during her deployment in the Gulf War. Her commitment to duty and valorous actions in combat were testament to her strength and dedication.

After her military service, Marissa pursued further academic excellence, earning a Master's degree in Business Administration from XYZ University. Her outstanding efforts were recognized when she received the Outstanding Academic Achievement award in 2010. Marissa exemplified what it meant to strive for greatness, inspiring many through her academic and professional endeavors.

During holidays, Marissa reveled in the joy of family gatherings. She was known for her delightful apple pie, a cherished tradition at Thanksgiving that brought everyone together. Her loving spirit and talent in the kitchen were a source of comfort and happiness for those lucky enough to share those moments with her.

Marissa had a deep passion for collecting rare books, often spending hours seeking out new additions at bookstores and auctions. This hobby not only nurtured her love for literature but also connected her with history and the stories of others, reflecting her appreciation for knowledge and culture.

Marissa is survived by her beloved sister, Sarah Johnson, and brother-in-law, Tom Johnson, who will carry on her memory in their hearts. She is also remembered fondly by her close friend, Rachel Lee, who shared many meaningful moments with her. Marissa has been reunited with her deceased family members: her mother, Susan Smith; her father, John Smith Sr.; and her brother, James Smith, who welcomed her with open arms.

As we celebrate Marissa Gracie Riche's life, we remember her courage, intelligence, and the joy she brought to her family and friends. Though her time with us was tragically short, her spirit lives on in the countless lives she touched.
