Marissa Gracie Riche, born on July 30 2025, departed this world unexpectedly on August 8, 2025. In her brief life, Marissa exemplified dedication, passion, and an unwavering commitment to those she loved. Her family and friends will forever cherish the memories they created together, particularly those special moments shared during the holidays. Celebrations were always made sweeter by Marissa’s famous apple pie, which became a beloved tradition that brought joy to her family’s gatherings.

Academically, Marissa pursued excellence, earning a Master's degree in Business Administration from XYZ University, where she was honored with the Outstanding Academic Achievement award in 2010. Her drive for knowledge and growth was evident in all that she undertook, setting a commendable example for those around her.

Marissa also proudly served her country for 20 years in the United States Army, achieving the rank of Colonel. Her service during the Gulf War was marked by bravery, earning her the Bronze Star and Purple Heart for her valor in combat. Marissa’s contributions to her country reflect her strong character and commitment to the ideals of service and sacrifice.

Outside of her professional and military pursuits, Marissa embraced her passions with enthusiasm. She had a deep love for collecting rare books and would often find herself exploring both bookstores and auctions, eagerly hunting for new treasures to add to her cherished collection. This hobby, like many aspects of her life, was pursued with enthusiasm and dedication.

Marissa is survived by her loving sister, Sarah Johnson, and her devoted brother-in-law, Tom Johnson. She also held a cherished friendship with Rachel Lee, who enriched her life with companionship and shared experiences.

She is preceded in death by her beloved mother, Susan Smith; father, John Smith Sr.; and brother, James Smith. Each of these losses profoundly shaped who Marissa was, instilling in her a profound respect for family and the importance of unity.

Marissa Gracie Riche's legacy of love, service, and passion will live on in the hearts of those she leaves behind. While her time with us was brief, her impact was undeniable, and she will be sorely missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
