Peyton Ryan Cragun, affectionately known as Peter, passed away unexpectedly on June 26, 2025, in his hometown of Ogden, one day after celebrating his birth on June 25, 2025. He was a gentle spirit, characterized by his kindness and welcoming demeanor, consistently making others feel at ease in his presence. His great sense of humor endeared him to many and will be remembered fondly by those who had the privilege of knowing him.
Peter earned a Master’s degree in Business Administration from XYZ University, where he was recognized for his academic excellence with the Outstanding Academic Achievement award in 2010. His dedication to education reflected his commitment to personal and professional growth, paving the way for his future endeavors.
Alongside his academic achievements, Peter was deeply dedicated to his community. He volunteered regularly at a local homeless shelter, where he provided meals and support to those in need. His selfless contributions earned him the Volunteer of the Year award, highlighting his compassion and desire to uplift those around him.
Peter is survived by his beloved sister, Sarah Johnson, and his brother-in-law, Tom Johnson. He also leaves behind a cherished friend, Rachel Lee. Together, they will carry forward his spirit of kindness and community service.
Peter was preceded in death by his mother, Susan Smith; his father, John Smith Sr.; and his brother, James Smith. Their memories will forever remain a part of his legacy, highlighting the love and values he carried throughout his short yet impactful life.
Though he departed this world far too soon, Peyton Ryan Cragun's legacy of kindness, humor, and service to others will undoubtedly resonate with all who were fortunate enough to have crossed paths with him.
