Peyton Ryan Cragun, born on July 8, 2025, in Ogden, left an indelible mark on the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him. With a spirit that shone brightly during his short life, he brought warmth and joy to every gathering, especially during the cherished moments of family holidays. Each Thanksgiving, Peyton's delightful apple pie became a beloved tradition, a testament to his love for family and the simple pleasures of life.

Educated at XYZ University, Peyton earned a Master's degree in Business Administration, where he stood out as an exceptional student and was honored with the Outstanding Academic Achievement award in 2010. His dedication to his studies reflected a commitment to excellence that he carried into every aspect of his life.

In addition to his educational accomplishments, Peyton served his country with honor in the United States Army for two decades. Rising to the rank of Colonel, he displayed remarkable bravery, particularly during the Gulf War, where his valor earned him the Bronze Star and Purple Heart. His commitment to service and his courageous spirit were sources of pride for his family and friends alike.

Peyton departed this world on July 9, 2025, in his beloved hometown of Ogden, leaving behind cherished memories and a legacy of love. He is survived by his devoted sister, Sarah Johnson, and his supportive brother-in-law, Tom Johnson. In addition, he leaves behind a close friend, Rachel Lee, who stood by him through life's many adventures.

He joins his loved ones who have passed before him: his mother, Susan Smith, his father, John Smith Sr., and his brother, James Smith. Their spirits now embrace him, enveloping him in love and comfort.

Though Peyton's time with us was far too brief, the love he shared and the memories he created will forever be etched in our hearts. He will be deeply missed but never forgotten, living on in the stories we share and the love we continue to hold for him.
